Well Water Treatment & Filtration Systems
No more rust stains, rotten egg smell or gritty water from your private well. We test first, then treat in the right order.
What you’ll notice
- No more rust stainsor black and brown stains
- No rotten egg smellin the shower or at the tap
- Clearer, better-tasting waterno grit, no tint
- Protects pipes & appliancestreatment in the right order
- Lab testing when it mattersfor nitrate, arsenic and bacteria
If your home runs on a private well, nobody else is testing or treating your water. That's up to you. Wells around Ripon, Hughson, Patterson, Turlock and the rural edges of Manteca and Stockton can carry iron, manganese, sulfur, nitrate, arsenic, sediment, acidic (low pH) water, or bacteria. Liquid Solutions Inc designs, builds, and installs well water filtration systems matched to your test results. We're a licensed C55 water conditioning contractor (C55 is California's water conditioning contractor license; CSLB #811243) with 30+ years of experience, family-owned since 1996.
Start with a well water test
Every well is different. Our free in-home water test includes hardness, precipitation, chlorine and soap testing, and more. For wells, we also offer specialized well testing on site and through state-certified labs. We explain the results in plain language and recommend only what your water needs. Water testing →
Common well water problems and what often helps
Use this as a general starting point, not a self-diagnosis. Well water problems often overlap, so a professional test from our team is the best way to know what your well needs.
| What you notice or what your test shows | What often helps | Learn more |
|---|---|---|
| Orange or rust stains, metallic taste | Iron filter for well water | Iron removal |
| Black or brown stains | Manganese filter | Manganese removal |
| Rotten egg smell | Sulfur (hydrogen sulfide) filter | Sulfur filtration |
| Nitrate in your test | Whole-house anion exchange (our primary method); under-sink reverse osmosis (RO) as a drinking-water option | Nitrate removal |
| Arsenic in your test | An arsenic-specific whole-home filter, or reverse osmosis (under-sink or whole-home), sized from your test | Below |
| Blue-green stains, pinhole leaks, metallic taste (acidic, low pH water) | Acid neutralizer, which raises pH so water stops corroding copper pipes | Below |
| Sand, grit, or cloudy water | Whole-house sediment filter | Sediment filtration |
| Coliform or other bacteria in your test | UV anti-bacterial and anti-fungal system: ultraviolet light that treats water as it flows through, with no chemicals | Below |
| Scale and spots | Water softener or salt-free water conditioner | Softener · Saltless |
These are common signs only, not a diagnosis. The same symptom can have more than one cause, and the right system depends on your test results. We highly recommend a professional well water test and recommendation from our team before choosing a system. Call (209) 645-1151 to schedule.
Arsenic in well water
Arsenic has no taste, smell, or color. Only testing finds it. When a test shows arsenic, we size treatment to the level and to your water chemistry. That's an arsenic-specific whole-home filter, or reverse osmosis (RO), which can be under-sink for drinking and cooking water or whole-home, depending on the situation and severity. We re-test after installation to confirm results.
Low pH (acidic) well water
Acidic water can corrode copper plumbing, leaving blue-green stains in sinks and tubs and sometimes causing pinhole leaks. An acid neutralizer tank raises the water's pH so it's gentler on your pipes and fixtures. We often use calcite or Corosex filter media for acidic water.
Sediment
Sand, silt, and grit wear out fixtures and clog other treatment equipment. A whole-house sediment filter catches them where water enters your home, and it protects everything installed after it.
UV for bacteria
A UV anti-bacterial and anti-fungal system uses ultraviolet light to treat water for bacteria and fungi as it passes through, without adding chemicals.
The order matters
When a home needs more than one system, the order matters. We place each piece of equipment in line so it helps the next one work its best.
Well water FAQs
How often should I test my well water?
We recommend at least once a year, and any time the taste, smell, or color changes.
Will a water softener fix my well water?
A softener only treats hard water. If your well also has iron, sulfur, manganese, sediment, low pH, or bacteria, those need their own systems first. Treating them up front protects your softener and keeps it working longer.
What warranty comes with your well systems?
Our systems come with a lifetime limited tank warranty. Service plans add extended labor warranties.
Can I finance a well water system?
Yes. Financing is available, including 0% for 21 months on approved credit (OAC). See terms (opens in a new tab) Financing →
