A rotten egg smell from your faucets or shower usually comes from hydrogen sulfide gas (a naturally occurring gas that smells like rotten eggs), which is common in well water. Liquid Solutions Inc installs sulfur filters for homes on private wells in the Stockton Delta, Hilmar, Hickman, Lathrop, Hughson and Modesto. How our sulfur filter works
Our sulfur filters use oxidation to convert hydrogen sulfide gas into particles the filter media can trap, then backwash them away. Because sulfur often comes with iron and manganese, we size the system from your well test.

Why does my water smell like rotten eggs?
Usually hydrogen sulfide gas in well water. Our well testing confirms what's causing it before we recommend a filter.
Is the rotten egg smell harmful?
At levels typical in household water, it's mainly a smell and taste problem, and it can corrode plumbing. We test for other contaminants at the same time.
Will a carbon filter fix it?
Small amounts sometimes, but stronger sulfur needs an oxidation filter. Your test results decide.
